notes from 2007:

here’s a mix I cooked up a couple months ago for the excellent Royal Groove website — (http://www.royalgroove.org/) - a fantastic semi-monthly webradio show always featuring a better-than-usual selection of funk, soul and jazz.

it was hosted at Royal Groove for a couple weeks as a low bitrate file - but here’s a nicer high quality version. also this time around, I’ve included a “bonus track” at the end of the mix….

I had been saving all sorts of “fight” word samples for a couple years - so I had tons and tons left unused when the mix was done - I tried to smash them all into the final bonus track. it’s quite chaotic - but fun.

this mix - full of groove-jitsu technique… upper blocks, roundhouse kicks and some fantastic beats… plenty of fight related word samples rounding it all out. fetch your black belts and polish up the katanas… groove-jitsu!

only after the fact did I discover that DJ Hickory Dickory Doc (aka. DJHDD here at b00mb0x) had “beat me to the punch” on this theme - so check his quality Kung Faux mix out too (http://www.b00mb0x.org/wordpress/category/dj-hickory-dickory-doc/).
