\n\nanother one of those mixes I do for the kids I work with... all over the map. Hip Hop, Classic Rock and Punk stuff all mashed together with a virtual ton of spoken word samples (most of which is completely profane and offensive).
\n\nmost of the spoken word either namechecks the guys I work with or references some sort of inside private joke... like the whole aqualung thing. this one kid was listening to his Iriver radio - and thought he'd sing along with Jethro Tull -- but he didn't know the words, so he just started singing "aqualung is something!" -- and we've been giving him shit for it for months now...
\n\nthe title references two guys at work that are always "smoking the bowl" on the job - hence the nickname the Van Bowlski Brothers... still plenty of great tracks and stuff in here - even without the knowledge of the inside jokes... hope you all like it.

\n\nhere’s a mix I cooked up a couple months ago for the excellent Royal Groove website — (http://www.royalgroove.org/) - a fantastic semi-monthly webradio show always featuring a better-than-usual selection of funk, soul and jazz.
\n\nit was hosted at Royal Groove for a couple weeks as a low bitrate file - but here’s a nicer high quality version. also this time around, I’ve included a “bonus track” at the end of the mix….
\n\nI had been saving all sorts of “fight” word samples for a couple years - so I had tons and tons left unused when the mix was done - I tried to smash them all into the final bonus track. it’s quite chaotic - but fun.
\n\nthis mix - full of groove-jitsu technique… upper blocks, roundhouse kicks and some fantastic beats… plenty of fight related word samples rounding it all out. fetch your black belts and polish up the katanas… groove-jitsu!
\n\nonly after the fact did I discover that DJ Hickory Dickory Doc (aka. DJHDD here at b00mb0x) had “beat me to the punch” on this theme - so check his quality Kung Faux mix out too (http://www.b00mb0x.org/wordpress/category/dj-hickory-dickory-doc/).
